Charity Support

Since our first year of operation, Arrow Digital has chosen a charity to support by raising funds and participating in various challenges. Our business culture supports giving some of our time to those who deserve and need it.

Plans for 2013 are under way and we hope to make this our most successful fundraising year but also want to give more volunteered time.

In 2012 we put together a team of 6 - staff and clients who raised over £2000 for the Yorkshire Young Achievers. In some of the most challenging weather conditions we tackled the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. After 4 hours of very wet, cold and at times dangerous conditions were adviced to stop after completing Pen-y-Ghent. We will return in 2013.

In 2011 we supported various childrens charities and an individual who is learning to walk again after a serious car accident . Everything from small fundraising efforts to a 50mile run across the Yorkshire Dales. Our efforts contributed over £5000 which is our most so far.

In 2010, Arrow Digital chose to support Lifeblood - The Thrombosis Charity.  Thrombosis has been - and remains - a major cause of death in the United Kingdom yet astonishingly, this fact is not widely known.

Leigh Woolard, Director of Arrow Digital ran his heart out at the Edinburgh Marathon this weekend, raising £1,432.95 for The Thrombosis Charity. The extremely warm conditions made the run even more challenging, but he still managed to cross the finish line after 5hrs 3mins.  Leigh said "I hit the wall at 15 miles so the last 11 miles was the hardest thing I have ever done.  I certainly can't finish on that note, so may have to come back next year!"  A huge congratulations to Leigh, and thank you to everyone who supported him!

August 2009 we supported The Friends of Alfie Martin who raise much needed funds for special baby care transportation and intensive care facilities. Our donation was a Super Car Track Day at Elvington, York which was part of their auction. A great evening where £6500 was raised for a wonderful cause.

In 2009, Action for Children is our chosen charity. Action for Children is committed to helping the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK break through injustice, deprivation and inequality, so they can achieve their full potential. Today, Action for Children is the leading UK provider of family and community centres, children's services in rural areas, services for disabled children and their families, and services for young people leaving care.

Our director, Leigh Woolard ran the 2009 London Marathon for the first time finishing in a credible time of 3hrs 55mins. 'The day was great and the thousands of supporting people in the crowd gave me a real lift when I hit the wall at 23 miles. I am very grateful to all those that helped us to reach nearly £5000 in sponsorship,' said Leigh.

In 2008, we supported Disability Action Yorkshire raising £655 and participating in our 2nd Great North Run.

In 2007, Henshaws was our first chosen charity. Leigh participated in his first half marathon and raised £615 for the charity.
